The Managing Partner of BROSETA, Luis Trigo, has been selected by The Lawyer as one of the candidates for best Managing Partner of the year in The European Lawyer Awards 2016.

These awards, given by The Lawyer, an international publication specialised in the legal sector, with more than three decades of experience and a deep knowledge of all areas of business from the scope of the legal profession, recognises best practices of the firms operating on the European continent, as well as professionals and teams that demonstrate high quality in the execution of projects and in the development of strategies in different disciplines or areas of activity.

In this sense, The Lawyer wanted to recognize Luis Trigo for his work in the Firm, internally organising the generating of business and the promotion of internationalisation in recent years.

This is the fourth time in the last six years that the Firm has been selected among the finalists for these awards. In 2011 BROSETA was recognized in the category of “Niche Firm” of the year in Europe, for its work in the area of Venture Capital; in 2014, it won the prize for the European team of the year in Banking and Finance, and in 2015 the Public Law Department was recognized as one of the best practices of the year in Europe in the category of Energy, Infrastructures and Large Projects.

This year in the Managing Partner of the year category, Managing Partners Luis de Carlos (Uría Menéndez), Stefano Simontacchi (Bonelli Erede Pappalardo, Italy), Sergio Barozzi (Lexellent, Italy), Zbigniew Drzewiecki (Drzewiecki Tomaszek I Wspólnicy, Poland), Gerard Endedijk (Rutgers Posch, Netherlands) and Juha Pekka Katainen (Krogerus, Finland) are nominated along with Luis Trigo.

BROSETA is also one of only six Spanish firms nominated for a prize in The European Lawyer Awards 2016, along with well-known firms like Garrigues, Cuatrecasas, Uría Menéndez, Gómez-Acebo Pombo and Pérez-Llorca, that are selected in different categories.

Partner of BROSETA from 2005, Luis Trigo has been Head of Tax Partner for eight years, when he was elected as BROSETA Managing Partner, and he has leaded the Firm to become one of the most relevant players in the fields of and International Taxation. Luis Trigo has been recently appointed as Lawyer of the Year in Spain by the international legal publication Best Lawyers and ranked as well as one of the three top Spanish lawyers in the Wealth Management Area by Chambers Legal.

The final result will be known on March 9th in London at The Lawyer European Awards gala.
