CARLOS SALINAS, NEW DIRECTOR OF BROSETA’S BARCELONA OFFICE
Within the framework of the BROSETA Horizon 27 strategic plan, the Firm has taken another step in its positioning in Catalonia by appointing Carlos Salinas Peña, director of the Barcelona office. Carlos Salinas, partner in the Commercial Law Area of BROSETA since 2022, thus begins to lead the Barcelona office.
Salinas has more than 25 years of experience in structured financing operations (corporate, project finance, asset finance and LBO’s); refinancing or restructuring operations of bank debt, advising important companies in sectors such as hotels, construction or real estate; and mergers and acquisitions of companies, intervening in corporate and business purchase processes, on behalf of both venture capital entities and national and international industrial partners. Likewise, he is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Commercial Law Section of the Illustrious Bar Association, ICAB.
For Manuel Broseta, president of BROSETA: “Barcelona is a city with great business activity and a benchmark for the professional development of projects linked to investments. Therefore, we are convinced that this new stage with Carlos Salinas as director will, without a doubt, be very positive for our clients and colleagues.” In the words of Rosa Vidal, managing partner of BROSETA: “the deep knowledge that Carlos has of the business fabric, and especially the local one, gives us security and will be fundamental for the leadership of this project that we started three years ago.” For his part, Carlos Salinas, has been “excited to be able to direct the Barcelona office of a firm with the recognition and positioning that BROSETA has. Furthermore, it is quite a challenge to participate in a growth project that presents important challenges for the future.”
Iberian dimension and international positioning
After the opening of BROSETA in Barcelona three years ago, which took place with the integration of a team of more than 50 professionals, the office provides advice in all areas of Business Law and in specialties such as new technologies, real estate and urban planning, and M&A, among others.
The Barcelona office is the third physical headquarters of the Firm in Spain, along with Valencia, since its origins, and in Madrid, since 2007. Within the framework of growth that we are experiencing, in addition to the appointment of Carlos Salinas as director of the office, we have incorporated Assumpta Zorraquino and Alejandra Matas to the team this November, who will lead the new technologies area of the Barcelona office. Additionally, BROSETA has had an office in Lisbon since 2018, thus providing itself with a dimension that allows the company to offer a fully Iberian service to its clients. The geographic positioning of the Firm is completed with the Zurich office, a city where the organization has been present since 2013, and with the leadership of the Ibero-American Legal Network, an alliance of legal firms in Latin America that has a presence in 18 countries and has more than 600 lawyers establishing synergies and satisfying the needs of organizations in both geographies.
